On board chargers
After several good years of use, my Minn Kota MK 440d charger has lost one charger bank. Minn Kota says it needs replaced (well out of warranty). This charger is a tank. It weighs about 20lbs, but the reason I got this one is the footprint is small (7.5” x 11.5”) and it fits better in my boat. The new version of this charger that I want is the MK440PCL. This charger looks much smaller and lighter than the old one. Footprint is 10”x10” and it’s about HALF (yes, half!) the weight. WHY? What is the difference that makes this charger so much smaller? Pictured is the MK440D (top) MK 440PCL (bottom)

What do you do for a living?
I'm a Lineman for an electric company. It's the only job I can do since I'm scared of heights and electricity. My wife has been an Attorney since 1998.

Caught my 104th Large mouth Today for 2017
I've been catching them like crazy! I caught probably 30 over 3 lbs, I had on one that was sure to be my new PB, then my alarm clock went off and I had to get up and go to work.

Ideas on getting my new iphone 7+ out of 7 foot of water?
I lost a flip phone by a dock a few years back in three feet of water. Should have been easy to find right? Water was warm, saw EXACTLY where it went in, piece of cake. NOPE. Water clarity was coffee, bottom was mucky, black silt. I sank to my ankles when I stepped in and never found it. Not a lick of current. I couldn't have been more than two feet from it but I never found it. If if it's clear water with sandy bottom you got a chance. Otherwise slims the word.

Mark Zona is on these forums!
Ztrain's replies should be in all caps, all the time. Adds a little authenticity don't you think?

Unfortunate incident with fellow angler.
Get back around in front of him, facing out of the cove, wait until he passes you again then trim the big motor up to a proper spraying position and nail it. See ya boys! I know it isn't right, but it would be FUN!

Over under
HA! yeah, the statute of limitations has run out. If I'm going duck hunting, I'm taking a semi-auto with a composite stock and black anodized finish. IMO Duck hunting requires a "mud gun". I don't want to freak out when I trip and fall in the knee deep water on my way to the blind or bang my gun against a stump. ("mud guns" will be cheaper too!)

Over under
The Tri-Star Setter is probably the gun you saw. A nearby sporting clays range owner just bought some for rental guns and he has been impressed with them so far. It might be one of the best value over/unders available right now. They have features that you have to spend $1000-$2000 and up to get, especially if you want a trap gun.

Fishing Glasses
Add me to the Costas list. I've had Costas for about five years now and loved every minute of it. I've had Wileys, Ray Bans, and Maui Jims and my Costas are the best I've owned so far. I just recently sent in my Costa Tags (tortoise frames with 580G lenses) to be repaired because the rubber was beginning to come off the frames. They cant fix them because they are discontinued, so they are sending me a BRAND NEW PAIR of similar glasses of my choice (Tuna Alley's with tortoise/580G). It's costing me $11.95 total. I'll take that customer service any day! I'm a Costa Guy for life now!

3 Top Ranger Execs Resign
I was recently at Johnny Morris' Dogwood Canyon Resort in Missouri. While there I asked (purely out of curiosity) if the employees had ever met Johnny and what they thought of him. Without exception everyone gave similar answers. They all LOVED him and spoke very highly of him. They all said that he comes across as just a regular joe, They said that Johnny was very easy to talk to and nobody had a negative word to say about him. I was doing my best to "read" into the responses to see if they were giving me canned, politically correct answers. I never detected anything of the sort.

Trolling motor battery question...
I have three Deka group 31's powering my trolling motor. They're on year four and still going strong. The only thing I had to do is keep the water filled up over the plates. I'm happy with my Dekas!

Lost my brother
Very sorry for your loss Tom. I hear of this type of thing happening much more than anyone would care to hear about. It is a sad commentary on our current state of health care when you know how much the insurance companies dictate in the system. Very unfortunate.

I'm totally surprised to see that our resident spell-checker "Long Mike" hasn't done anything about the misspelled title of this thread. You're slipping Mike --or is that "sipping"? --------------- Fixed...-Kent- A Couple More Aged Bass
Catt, Were you seeing that southern strain bass grow at a much faster rate? I would think that the northerners would have a longer lifespan at a slower growth rate.- Giant Smallie

Golf is NOT a game of distance. It is a game of accuracy. Those who chase the "ghost" of distance usually end up spending A LOT of money and gaining very little in the way of lower scores.- Golf Clubs
As a former golf pro, I can tell you that you all make great points and offer good advice. Demo days are a great idea for trying out clubs and making a decision to buy. It will be worth the wait to get the right set of clubs. Make sure you get them custom fit. For a player of your level, custom is the only way to go. I would caution you against making a decision on clubs based primarily on more distance. Many (the majority) of amateurs make this mistake, which causes some club manufacturers to market their irons that way. The problem is that most of the club manufacturers that do so are just increasing the lofts of the clubs so that their wedge will hit it as far as a competitor's 8 or 9-iron. Distance comes from consistently hitting it in the sweet spot. Nothing will tell you more about where you're hitting it on the club face than a custom fitting session using impact tape on the face (among a few other tools) to custom fit the clubs to your swing. Take your time. You will be happy that you did.- Pictures, My Mind Is Boggled
I recently recognized this same issue in my own life. My solution was to begin to load everything into an Apple product called an "Airport Time Capsule". It IS my internet router, and also a 3GB storage drive. I can upload all my pics WIRELESSLY from my iOS devices (iPad, iPhone, etc.) and wirelessly from my iMac. I also have 4 kids (each with an iPad) that I dump the good pictures onto the Airport to keep their iPads from getting too full. This was VERY convenient for me and I am very happy with the results.- American Sniper

I made it through. After about 30 hours straight I went home to sleep. I'm recovered now and ready for the next one. I think we got about two feet total here. We're pretty much back to normal here now. - 2015 Unofficial Road Trip (Also Known As The Baked Potato Classic)
