First outing of 2018!
Hey guys/gals! My dad and I made it out for the first time this year here in Iowa and we didn't leave disappointed. Just jigging for a couple hours and I'd say it was a success.... This one was about 5 lb and caught one other just over 4 lb! Thanks!!

DIY GoPro Mount for boat?
Does anyone have any cheap ideas for setting up a go pro mount? I want to put one on my dad's Tracker for our trips this year. Thanks!

Whopper plopper. . .why the hype??
It's simply consumerism. That's all it is. It's new, it's exciting, but there's no hard evidence it's more effective than a buzzbait/popper/prop baits/etc. You can get some huge hits with all of em. People will just convince themselves that it is more effective because they use it more often as a result of the consumerism. Just try it for yourself. It just depends on the day. But don't get me wrong, it would be nice to have if you get a day where that's what the fish would rather go after.

Best place to get inexpensive hooks/weights?
I'm a budget bass fisherman and the only thing I'm missing now is a separate small tackle box that holds the weights and hooks I'll need for worms/craws/jigs/etc. But.. I don't want to pay an arm and a leg. Can anyone recommend a brand/off-brand or another alternative?

If You Could Only Have 5 setups
Five setups and I would be spoiled! I live off three and that's plenty for me to catch bass!

Shimano Cruxis 200 thoughts??
Found a Cruxis 200 like new in the box for $35 on CL in my search for budget reels. 6.2:1 Would you recommend?? I know it's an older reel, but if it performs that's all I need!

Missouri and Minnesota - need recommendations!
My dad and I are looking at taking one or two 2.5 day trips this spring/summer. We want to go north or south. What are some awesome lakes that aren't completely recreational? He has a 16.5' tracker so heavy winds wouldn't treat us too well either! I want to catch big largemouth, but also wouldn't be opposed to some chunky smallmouth either. Southern half of Minnesota or northern half of Missouri would be perfect! Thanks! Lately I've just been google mapping and have found some nice options that way too.

South Central Iowa Fishing Spots
My dad's family is from Monte and we always used to have family reunions out there. My dad would just show up everyone that was bank fishing and pull out 16-18 inchers all day long. I used to go to Hawthorn way back in the day with my dad (late 90s/early 2000s) and that lake was on fire. I'm sure it'll get back to that with time... but man. I remember him catching an enormous muskie on a crankbait. Ever since then, I have wanted to catch one. Hopefully this year!

South Central Iowa Fishing Spots
Diamond and Iowa are fun to camp too. Never been camping at Hawthorn. Most of these small lakes are within an hour of me. So awesome.

South Central Iowa Fishing Spots
3 of the best bass lakes in Iowa right there. I'm not quite sure about south central, but eastern Iowa has some awesome lakes that aren't talked about all that much. Lake Iowa is great, Diamond Lake is pretty solid. Hawthorn Lake was just redone and is already producing awesome fish - 3 or 4 years and that place is gonna be top notch.

Millionaire Bass Angler
First and foremost, Fish to Fish. Tournament angling (unless you do it occasionally to satisfy the need for competition and to be out there with your buddies) is a money pit.
