Indiana Picked Up Some

Featured Replies

I live on a private lake and until this year in the spring and early summer would produce more 4 and 5 pounders then you could count and you could aways catch fish.  This year indiana we had a very long and rough winter lots of snow ice worst in a long time....We started this year ok my brother got a 6.5 pounder and then I got one 5.2 the next weekeend then everything changed.  I fished 3 times the last few weeks (I know I should fish more but business is picking up) and got 2 bass to show one 15 inches and one 7 inches.

Today my brother came up to fish and I said sure we can try but it's been rough started off slow and we started to get fish on soft plastic (rage tail) they wouldn't touch a spinner or crank at all...most bass were small then my brother got one about 2 pounds it had a red tail and looks like it has been fighting for beds.....about 11 things picked up and I got a 4 pounder on a crank it was big but not pack full of eggs.....then about 20 min later I got 1 about 5 pounds and lost it 6 inches from the boat....my fault....then my brother got 1 about 4 so the quality and numbers of fish picked up....they turned on with the KVD square bill cranks and it seemed like most fish were in 3-5 feet

We got 7 total not a great or even good day but did see some good signs after a rough few weeks.

Sounds awesome! Glad to hear it's getting better.

I live a bit north of Indy, the bite's been getting better. I don't have any private lakes to get to, but some of mine are giving up some 3lb-ers.

It has been slow. Glad it's picking up some.

It was weird today I went out at 6 and NO signs of fish....3 boats out and nobody could find fish...they all went in and about 8 tonight they came on and I lost a 3 pounder...then got 1 14 inches....got a 3 pounder.....then I got a big bite and the fish felt about 8 pounds but it was 5.08 hardest fighting fish I have had on this year....
