Went out after work from 9-11, fishing was pretty good... I was throwing the live target mouse and rage toads both producing numbers of fish. I'm definitely going to pick up another mouse or two soon...

17" (It's a little over 16.875, round to 17), hoping to cull both 17 inchers that I've got...

What size mouse do you have. I have the smallest one but prefer to use frogs instead. The mouse seems to fill up with water a lot faster than my spro frogs

The biggest one, I wasn't having problems with the water filling up until last night actually... I caught fish on it even when its filled with water and walking back and forth just beneath the surface. When I make shorter casts and the bait hits the water softer it doesn't get as much water in it... Regardless of that I still love it, definitely my new favorite hollow body surface lure. The walking action is SUPERB. I throw the big mouse on a 7' MH F St. Croix mojo with a Daiwa T3 Ballistic (7.1:1) with 65 pound power pro... I really like that setup because I can get nice long casts when I'm throwing Rage toads or shads and any hollow body baits, even heavier ones like the big field mouse...

This is from the other day..

------ they have 2 sizes

i use these a lot on top f the weeds and in the grass.    I like the white and the pink.  they have worked well for me.  I use garlic spike it on the tail, i dunk the tail right in the bottle, and i dunk the head in smelly jelly.  I believe the stuff gives a 1/2 second or 2 longer before they spit it out.   Helps me with hook sets.  It works really well in the grass.   I twitch real real slow.  works well especially when the water is only a foot or so deep.  I will cast it right onto the shore and twitch it right into the water.  Many strokes come with in 2 feet of shore.   My thinking is if i dropped it in the water instead of the shore , i will spook more than get a reaction bite.  I also throw it right into the brush, hang it in the brush and then drop it off the brush into the water.   less commotion less disturbance in the water.

I also take the hooks on many of them and bend them up just a bit with my needles nose pliers. --  i dont do all of them,  sometimes i really need more weedless to stop with hangups, other times i want less weedless but easier hook set.    they are very soft. and in the warm weather even softer.  I have probably 1/2 dozen of them but mainly white and pink.   You will catch turtles and snakes with them also. The 3 big turtles i have caught have all been on these, and 1 water snake at turtle pond in concord.

Lets add this one.   all the others were less than 18 inch.  the word of the day is blue rage craw weightless.   I used several things in the rain this morning till i finally got some bites.  zero on anything till i went to Blue Bug Rage craw with sparkles weightless.  a 1/2 dozen fish , this being the biggest one.  They were hitting it before it hit bottom.  About 12 feet deep. a good 20 feet past where the weeds ended.

Nice catches Nev, JB. I got out twice this week after work for about an hour each. Nothing over 18" though. Looks like I will get some in next week for a few days.

I ad some free tie this morning to get out fishing today. Got onto the water about 6:30 this morning and fished until 1:30 pm. It was slow but productive fishing. The water temps were in the mid 66-70 degrees. It was overcast the most of time I was fishing. I caught fish on jigs, chatter bait and rubber worms. Landed 8 largemouth and 2 smallmouth.

Check out the odd protrusion on its stomach near the anal vent. Its rather odd. Not sue what it was. There must have been something odd in its stomach. This fish also had the tail of a 8-10 inch perch sticking out of its gullet.

That 5-14 looks like it had the right build to become a fat 8 pounder Maine...

You guys doin some good work up north there.. good fish.

I put in some hours this morning and had a 4-5 pounder lost on equipment failure.. drag gave out and I grabbed the line trying to get her in.. almost had her near the bank when she shook her huge head and dropped off.. I rushed to grab her but she squirmed away.. alil ticked.

Still got these to submit though..

This one is a 17.5" I didnt line him up perfect in the pic..

Other one is a 16"

Oh well back to work next week after I fix the drag!

Jitter, your 17's are gone as of Saturday. Nice lookin rig.

Tournament fishing has really taken away from my time for this competition. This coming weekend I have another tournament but will have some time for this competition. I need to step it up. Good going guys. Nice fish being caught and posted on here.

I smell some PIG smallies!

Found these 2 in the shade this morning.  Fished a few different areas with craws and ring worms not a single bite.  Fished some grass and weeds in full sun with same as well as weedless white and dark frog twitching.    Threw on a chugger knocker spook and found these 2  about 14 feet of water and no lilly pads or weeds.   Was casting with my back to the shore.
