Hanging Fenders

Featured Replies

I upgraded boat a year ago and just now have time to add accessories and make sure everything works correctly. Today I realized the boat fenders hang differently on this boat then my previous boat. Where the cheats are the front fenders hang below the side middle part. And the back ones are a little high which makes them short almost straight out and not hang properly. It would be nice to have them hang perfectly vertical. On bigger boats you just let them hang but what have people done with bass boat that sits lower to the water? Half the time I go out I usually meet up with people and tie up together and just making sure I get the right setup to protect my boat and their's. If you have pictures that would be great.

I was thinking about running a line through the top and bottom eyes of the fenders and have it connect to the fender 3/4 the way up. But I wasn't sure if the fender would then try to turn side ways and not stay vertical. I might have to add some cleats higher up the boat or on the inside part.

You're probably going to want to get new fenders. Something like this will work well http://www.basspro.com/Taylor-Made-Inflatable-Bass-Boat-and-Freeboard-Fenders/product/994/ otherwise the contoured model of these are good http://www.basspro.com/Taylor-Made-Inflatable-Bass-Boat-and-Freeboard-Fenders/product/994/
