Revo Premier Bearing Or Casting Issues

Featured Replies

How can I tell if my spool bearings are bad? I have the Stx and have no issues. The premier I have kinda clicks as the spool comes to rest (kinda hear the bearing clicking) . Also the spool is more difficult to manage and isn't as consistent casting. It tends to want to backlash more and I have done all I can. Bearing flush light oiling. It casted well at first the after a couple of trips it became inconsistent. Any help?

To test a bearing flush, dry and spin on a dowel or pencil point etc. It should spin freely and quietly and come to rest gradually. The clicking you hear is probably not bearing noise. The spool pin may not be inserted fully and is clicking on the bottom of the pinion. There may be some contamination, spool damage or a brake issue. It's impossible to tell for sure without seeing it.

Were you having issues before or after you flushed the bearings? Sometimes adding a lighter oil will make the bearings spin much faster, so you have to add a little more tension/brakes to slow it down some. They typically come packed with grease from the factory, which slows the spool down making it easier to cast, but hurting distance.

Could the clicking be the break washers retrackting?

I really can't say without seeing it. Try locking the tabs down on all the brakes and see if it makes a difference.

Its a gen three with the new breaking. Its appears when they settle or retract they click. The pinion side spool bearing, with oil, only spins for a couple of seconds.

I was having issues before but now I do need to add more breaking. I'm used to running the tension break loose on my Stx. The new breaking may not work as well that way? (abu variable breaks)
