I hear a lot of folks talking about fishing with floating worms.

 

can you guys recommend a few brands? colors? where and when to fish them?

Zoom Trick Worm is my favorite. Junebug color, 3/0 roundbend hook, and a 1/4 oz bullet weight.

 

A floating worm is essentially just an unsalted worm. Salt makes plastics sink. Whenever you go to buy trick worms, they'll say "The Original", meaning no salt.

Jackal flick shake on a shakey head has done well for me

Most of the Zman worms float.

Charlies Worms - High Floating- Throw it in water and watch it float.  They have them at Bass Pro Shops or you can order them here.  

A true floating worm.. That's a good question!

I used a gilraker worm it had a blend of foam in it... Man those really were the real deal...I now use strike kings super finnese with a plastic slip sinker type rig... Hard to throw... I think it's the ELA Z TECH material... I know Trigged the worm stands up!

Make sure you buy a plastic with no salt.  Salt makes plastics sink.

Power Team plastics float. So do the Zoom worms if you get the " original" ones not the super salt. Todd

Z-man makes a commendable floating worm. It's made of ElaZtech plastic so one worm lasts a good long while.

Colors... Zoom original= Baby Bass, Zoom super salt plus = green pumpkin / Blue

Strikeking = junebug

All are Trick worm or style

Zoom trick worm in white, chartreuse, or an orangish color called methiolate( i think thats tbe name byt havent found any in a good while). White is by far my mkst productive color though

i catch fish on these when nothing else seems to work. Skip under trees or cast around any cover and work them almost like a soft jerkbait. I never let them sink out of sight and worm them as slow as possible

Gambler floating worms have been very productive for me over the years.
