Where Is This Seat Supposed To Be Positioned?

So there are two heights of adjustable Springfield Pedestals I've found, 13 1/2"-20" and 23"- 29". I can sit with the 13 1/2"-20", but it's not super tall. At it's max height it puts the seat just above my butt cheek. When I use the 23"-29" it puts it at the middle of my back and when it's lowered it's too tall to sit on.

With this pictured Cabelas seat, I was wondering if with the "lean-back" concave side that is supposed to be at your back, butt, or just under your butt cheek? It seems to me that I really need like a 25"-29", but no one makes that. I decided to stick with the 13-1/2"-20".

Did I make the right choice?

The pedestal should have 2 pieces with a bolt & a large ring at the end of it, this will let you adjust the seat height, if not you can buy an adjustable pedestal seat. It should be right under your cheek so that you can lean on it while steering the foot pedal, most guys I know don't really use them unless they have back problems or are fatigued from being on the water all day. I have back issues so the pedestal seat serves me well.

I believe he's talking about the power pedestals and not the manual adjustment ones.

OP: I think with the seats with the concave back are meant to be a lower back/upper butt level. If you're going to use the seat side it'd be in the lower tush area lol.
