Have any of you guys ever expeiremented with making your own lures? I'd like to start making my own, but am not too interested in simply peicing them together from pre-bent wire and blades. I'm more interested in carving my own crank and stick baits. I was just wondering if anyone has done this, or if I should just forget about it and stick to the name brands??

Spinnerbaits are a good place to start, order all the components and assemble them.

Soft plastics are another good starting point, just prchase some molds, plastic, colors and flakes and you 're ready.

Carving is a completely different thing, specially if you don 't have experience carving and cutting anything, theoritically I 'm able to carve a wooden crank, after all, one of my hobbies was building remote control planes and you had to do a lot of cutting and carving but I have never tried cutting, carving and building a lure.
