I am about to buy this rod off a friend for a reaonable price and was mainly wanting to drop shot ( I know that make an actual dropshot rod , but can this rod still be used for this application?)

It's a little stiff for dropshot, in my opinion. I feel it's more suited for shakyhead and weightless plastic. It is capable of dropshot though. If it's a good price, it's a great rod regardless, and you'd enjoy it.

This rod for a good price, I wouldn't even think about it. Probably one of the best rods on the market right now without a doubt. Plus it has lifetime warranty.
