I have a vigilante baitcaster rod with a black max 2 reel and im wondering how heavy of a line I should use for largemouths. I want to do a mono backing with a flouro leader. Should they be the same pound test or different? I fish in clear water in weeds/along weed lines.

I would probably go with 12 or 15 lb test. I tend to only use braid on my baitcasters and I mainly stick around 20 lb test but #12 should be great too

Take the best of both worlds, skip the leaders and get some 12# Yo Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft
