1/2 ounce rooster tail in line spinners. Those were my favorites and now i cant find them anywhere. Darn you trees

Most baitcasters ive seen have about a 3/8-1 ounce tolerance. Which is double what you have been throwing. If you want to throw lighter lures I would generally say go with a spinner, just because you dont have to worry about back lashing

I am looking for a new baitcasting reel, preferably 7.1:1. Ill be using braid on this and it will be put on a 6 1/2' MH rod. Nothing has really caught my eye yet but I am sure yall have used almost every reel out there. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated. Thanks!

I will almost exclusively use braid for jigs. The only time I dont is when I am using a smaller jig. Power pro is my favorite, that being said make sure you try all different kinds of braid and find the one you like the most. One thing to keep in mind also is that there is almost no stretch as opposed to fluro or mono.

When I bank fish alone, it seems that I last about two hours exactly. On a boat with a buddy I could go all day

This actually happened to me on the last trip! We were in the upper spot where we knew the bigger fish were and got a few bites here and there over about 2 hours. Then we decided to go to the lower spot where I proceeded to pull out more then 5 dinks in less then half an hour

I cant pass a walmart without checking out the fishing sections there. And when I go thats always the first section I go to. That being said, my local BPS/Green Top/Cicis is the most sacred that a place can be. Once you get in one mile of it, youll be there for atleast 5 hours. Ive had to go in with cash and nothing else before just so I dont blow my bank account

Ive always found the more lethargic they get the bigger the baits and the slower fished gets em biting better.

I would probably go with 12 or 15 lb test. I tend to only use braid on my baitcasters and I mainly stick around 20 lb test but #12 should be great too

Me being a night owl makes me like the sundown better but Ill be darned if there isnt something satisfying about getting up and on the water before sunup and fishing for a few hours before I head on with my day

I definitly like river more, I like it because I love bank fishing and wading and getting close to those eddys and slayin em.
