speed craws?

Featured Replies

ive always used single tailed grubs for swimming jigs but recently i got to the lake and realized that i didnt have any grubs with me (had thrown them in a backpack to walk to the river and forgot about them).  my challenge for this month was a swimming jig so i was planning on throwing it anyways.  I used a speed craw that i had recently grabbed on sale and had no real plan of what i was going to do with and had good results.

how do you guys like these baits and what are you doing with them.  seem like they could be good on a c-rig but other than that or as a jig trailer im not sure what they would be good for.

Very versatile bait, I fish them on the top of weeds, t-rigged, and sometimes almost like a jerkbait.  I have never used them as a trailer on a jig though.

no one else has any advice on how to use these?

I've TX rigged them and they work pretty good.  Like any other bait, fished in the right spot they will catch fish.  Zoom makes good stuff

caught a few more fish swimming a jig with a speed craw as the trailer.  fast becoming one of my favorite swimming jig trailers, although it will be hard for me to like something better than a simple single tailed grub for swimming.

Ive used them on a yellow jig head with a mr. twister grub on it..  I put the craw on as a trailer and have had a lot of success with them.  They can be jigged, used of the bottom, or just swimming them moderately fast.

good stuff imho :)

I use them t-rigged with small weight and a 2/0 hook.
