Pouring Question From A Beginner

Featured Replies

I'd just like to know if it's possible to pour plastisol in a mold and then heat the mold to cure or if it must be heated before pouring.  Thanks for your responses.

No. There is a product made by spike -it  that you can "cold pour" and then heat but regular plastisol need to be too high in temp for the radient heat from the mold would get it hot enough.

Plastisol starts out looking like milk.  As you heat and stir it begins to look like epoxy.  Then it thins out and turns clear.  After it turns clear you add the colorant and glitter.  As you can see smalljaw was 100% correct with his answer.

Bighead, also make sure you have a proper ventilation (and a respirator), along with good gloves when pouring. Plastisol, and other plastics fumes are toxic.

Thanks for the feedback gents.  I guess it doesn't work like the old creepy crawler set I had when I was a kid.
