Just picked this unit up, as the topic states it comes with Navionics Gold.  However, after installing the unit and taking it on the water, I did not notice a difference in the base map Lowrance programmed and Navionics Gold chip included in the bundle.  I toggled between the two in chart mode. 

 

I fish a fairly large and popular body of water, Lake Champlain.  Were my expectations to high?  I thought the chip would be a little better.  Am I doing something wrong?  Should I upgrade the chip?  Feedback is appreciated.

 

 

The Gold Navionics coverage has Champlain in HD if the data is current.

 

Look at the Gold coverage map on the Navionics Web site and then zoom in to Champlain.
