just recently start to fish out in the TN river and i am wondering which lake master card i need for mapping  

i know they have a great lake one and a south east one and they both say tennessee but which  one do i need 

i fish around new johnsonville  area

All of Barkley and Kentucky is on the Southeast version.

All if Barkley and part of Kentucy is on the Great Lakes version

Check the list of waters on their web site for each region..

I recommend the Navonic... Lake master chips die really easy for some reason...  Mine did and it only has a 60 warranty then your sol!  I put it in the Humminbird and took it out when I had to send the sonar in for warranty work.  I got the sonar back put the chip in and it was dead.  Called and they told me I was sol...
