So..... The magnetic brake got a little stuck and then unstuck fairly easily.. however, now the brake is so tight that the spool barely moves.. Even on the low setting it will only cast 20feet.

Its an abu Garcia silvermax 2...

Anyone know an easy fix or do I need to send it back?.....

You can try taking it apart and cleaning, lubing amd put it back together. If its still in warranty though id just send it back

Are you sure that it is the mag brake and not the spool tension knob that is keeping the spool from rotating?

If it's new and broken, return it.

I loosed the knob lol.... ya its only 2 weeks old...
