So there is this pond in a subdivision right next to my subdivision that I fished regularly. I don't have a boat or my license and that the only place withing walking/biking distance. Anyway the pond is for residents only but I had permission from one of the residents and I have friends there so I figured I'd be fine. I was just fishing there having a pretty good day for this pond caught 4 in the half to one pound range and my first buzzbait fish of the year. I went home hot lunch and came back. Any way some lady decided age needed to drive over to the pond and ask us to leave and threatened to call the cops. So obviously we left, but now what do I do. I have nowhere to fish now and I need my fix. I guess it's my fault but what should I do now I mean I had permission but I guess that's not enough

First off you really really need to get your fishing license otherwise your at risk of losing your fishing equipment if you get stopped. With license in hand I would go back to the spot you were fishing without bringing other friends with you unless those kids are apart of the subdivision that is aloud to fish there. From your story it seems like people in the community gave you permission to fish not you and your buddies. 

Sounds like you're in need of a license!  You should really work on obtaining written permission from at least one if not more residents.  When you have that and license in hand, return to pond and fish away.  If she comes back just show her the written permission letter and then if she decides to call the cops so be it.

I meant my drivers license I'm only 15 so I don't need a fishing license yet. When I go permission I was with my friend and it was kind of an accident cause one of the residents came over and said he knew we weren't from there but it's fine as long as we don't keep any fish or be annoying.

Those cops would be kinda annoyed that a woman drug them out there over a pond haha, yeah get written permission and you will be fine.

Ok I think I'm gonna let it cool off a bit as in let them settle down I'm going to my soon anyway for a few week sand I'll be fishing at least two. Hopefully it works out

Not positive that I read this right but I mean really I could be doing worse things. It's not like I hurt anyone or anything.

The only thing that saved me was the judge telling the cop "If jumping a fence to play baseball is a crime, then you are looking at a judge who is a criminal".

 

At the same rate, I can understand why someone doesn't want people who aren't a part of the community fishing what is supposed to be a private pond. Slippery slope and all that.

Yeah I get where they are coming from but at the same time I don't see why they would get so mad about something so small I mean she was furious

First world problems. In her mind, you are destroying her way of life. She has an expectation that there won't be strangers wandering around the neighborhood. The man who you say granted you permission didn't really grant you permission. He just showed apathy towards the situation because he's probably a busy man and has better things to worry about. Next time just go with your friend who lives in the complex. You are now a guest.
