  1. Definitely overpriced at retail. It's just your standard plastic framed Doyo OEM reel. Probably similar in performance to the Abu Max reels or the lower end Lews stuff as they all come from the same place.
  2. Academy has 20% some rod and reels, plus a $20 off $100 in the app Can get a Tatula X for $99 by stacking these, among other good deals
  3. I grab the plastics when I find them for $2 a pack at Ollie’s. Don’t care about them or their YouTube or any of that. The plastics catch fish just as well as anything else you can get. Seen plenty MLF guys flipping the Bandito Bug before. If it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for me. Would I buy them at full price? No. But I rarely pay full retail for any of my gear.
  4. Got my haul order in today. Ended up being even better because some of the Swamp Lords they sent me were a whole 3 pack case instead of just 1. Somebody messed up
  5. Thanks. That’s a killer deal. Got the Brian Thrift 7’2” MH-MF and the 7’ MH-M
  6. Completely different, and It’s not like it’s anything new. It’s just something that has been reserved to budget reels because it has an actual downside in reels (flex under pressure). There is no benefit like with polymer framed pistols, it’s a straight downgrade and a cost cutting measure. The $100 price point is just traditionally where you see aluminum frames instead of polymer, so it’s disappointing here.
  7. Just saw that for pre-order at tackle Wharehouse. Looks nice but it says it’s a composite frame. That’s pretty lame for a $100 reel.
  8. Im pretty sure Dobyns sends the rods to Amazon pre packaged. Ordered 2 of the $50 maverick rods a little while back and both came in nice rod tubes just like if they had come straight from Dobyns
  9. I never liked fishing them….until I discovered the mini max. Absolute fish catching machines for me. Black/blue or White/Chart minimax with a matching mini spunk shad as a trailer has become my confidence lure. Catches em all big and small.
  10. Bought a couple a while ago and finally got to throw one. Caught a bunch of smaller fish on it, and man the way the fish hit it was really awesome. They were absolutely angry crushing it. Definitely a really fun lure to throw. Also had a turtle attack it and ended up breaking one of the front hooks getting him off, and I had to bend one of the rear hooks backs into place after a few small fish
  11. Amazon has some models of the Dobyns Maverick casting reels for as low as $21-23 after clipped coupons. I know these aren’t anything special, but that price for a decent useable casting reel is solid.
  12. Those sales are wild. Ended up getting a Fuego CT, Falcon BuCoo SR Trapcaster and a Dobyns colt 734c for like $200. Didn't exactly need but oh well. Fills a couple of holes in my rod lineup.
  13. When you get to Florida you can literally just cast into any small retention pond and have a good shot at bass. They are everywhere here lol
  14. I don't see any Tatula CTs in left for that price. The Fuego CT is good as well. https://m.ebay.com/itm/Daiwa-Fuego-CT-8-1-1-Left-Hand-Baitcast-Fishing-Reel-FGCT100XSL/302397297488?epid=1866895283&hash=item4668489350%3Ag%3ALlcAAOSwvv9Ze4QL&_trkparms=pageci%3Abc98dd19-bc36-11e7-999e-74dbd1803ed4%7Cparentrq%3A654a5ea315f0aa13818873e7fffe9e51%7Ciid%3A2 https://m.ebay.com/itm/Daiwa-Fuego-CT-7-3-1-Left-Hand-Baitcast-Fishing-Reel-FGCT100HSL/282590374783?epid=12005828847&hash=item41cbb2eb7f%3Ag%3Ah~YAAOSwJLJZe30h&_trkparms=pageci%3Af75a373b-bc36-11e7-a025-74dbd180c0a0%7Cparentrq%3A654bdfb815f0ab1de6a3a665fffc053b%7Ciid%3A4
