Nope.

Not for me. I received a few of their lures and baits in a mystery box.Β  I couldn't give them away.Β  There is one exception, the Lunker Log stick bait. These actually caught fish when wacky rigged.Β  I was impressed but not enough to let them replace a regular Senko but I did have more success with them than other stick baits I've tried.Β

I have a half pack of bandito bugs around here somewhere from before I knew anything about what googan was.Β  They catch fish, but they split so easily on a flipping hook.Β  1-3 fish max.Β  Definitely not worth it when there are better options available.Β Β

Nope

I have a googan spinner bait somewhere that I snagged and dragged out of the forebay. Never used it.

I've used some of their soft plastics.Β  They tick all the action, size, colors and packaging boxes for me for a locally available soft plastic I can just grab off the shelves of my local Bass Pro. I used their lunker log a lot this year in a fishing trip.Β  It was the only dark colored soft stick bait I brought on the trip and I slayed them in the muddy canals of the lake I was fishing.Β  In the past I used their flappy craw thing as a punching bait and got bit.Β  The baits seem pretty alright.

When talking about soft plastics, you gotta compare them to what's available on temu and aliexpress. There is a ton of quality SP's on there because it doesn't take anything to make a working bait. Pack it with salt, use soft silicon, copy a working mold, and the job there is done. But then you look at the price they're charging per pack, and see what's on Ali, and the difference in prices is astronomical. This is what i've noticed that folks never pay attention to when they're positive about googan's soft plastics.

That's a big negative. I see their stuff all over Bass Pro, but

have never been drawn to it in the least.

Come on guys, those who started the brand have millions of views on youtube, their stuff can't be bad😁

It's HOW they got their YouTube channel(s) going that turned me completely off to them. When I got Googan baits in Mystery Box - they immediately went in the 'Circular File'.

Β Bandito bug's work fine when you can get them from Ollie's for $1.99. I believe they were supposed to be $2.99 a bag and at that point the price is a little iffy. Full retail pricing? No way!

Β

Β On a side note I ran across a Jon B. video years ago. It had to be one of his first videos on YouTube. It's literally the only time in the last 35 years that I wanted to punch a 13 year old in the face. πŸ˜‚ Not a fan of any of the other googies either including that Martin kid. Lol. I'm not even sure if Scott is still sponsored by them or not.

Heck no.

Β

I don’t do 6th Sense either.

Apparently I’m a β€œGet off my lawn” old fart.Β

Lunker logs and Bandito Bugs work as well as any other bait for me. DSG has sales.

I got a pack of the Trench Hawg for free, caught some fish on them and a couple of fish in the 4-5lb range. They worked well, but there wasn't anything about them that stands out from a Brush Hog. Not a fan of the owners, personally, so I don't see myself purchasing more.

I have several packs of Bandito bugs, they’re gtg.. if I get 1-2 on any soft plastic then it’s done its job.Β

Yes.Β  I have Googan Squad stuff.Β  Getting back into fishing their price point - especially on the resale market is attractive.Β  They have been great when I want to try out a new technique and know I'm going to screw up a lot or don't know if I like -- like A-rigs.Β  Their hook mystery bundle did a great job of fleshing out my library and at this point in my fishing life I'm not experienced enough to be picky.Β  I've found I like their mini cranks and the dart (their fluke).Β  They have been blowing out last years sun shirts and gloves and both are very comfortable.Β  The fishing gloves looked a lot like Fish Monkey gloves my buddy was wearing.Β Β

Β

As for their reputation, I'm ambivalent.Β  I don't like Ben Milliken at all, but I have two of his rods and a bunch of 6th sense stuff.Β  Maybe it would botherΒ  me more if I was around it more, but I try not to sweat the petty stuff or pet the sweaty stuff.Β Β

I've had a few things of theirs. I didn't really like the squarebill. Their jerkbait though, the scout, I liked the one I had until I broke the lip, and it has good reviews. I'm planning on picking up another, or a couple, to try.

Β

I have used an occasional bandito bug, but I don't buy them. I don't fish that many creature baits.

Β

I like their spinnerbait. I forget what it's called, but it was a fine spinnerbait until I lost it.

I've used some of their soft plastics and as someone said above, they seem to split and tear just trying to load them on the hook. Don't know why. Had the same issue with Berkley Deal swimbaits.

Β

Couldn't seem to get them around the bend of the hook and onto the keeper of a jig without the splitting and tearing.

Β

I think I had tried the Bandito bug in both sizes, Krackin Kraw, or whatever it's called and a couple other I can't remember. Gave it all away and stuck with other products I liked better.
