  1. If you liked Kistler on the NFC blanks, check out Pride Rods as they are built on NFC’s.
  2. Saw the model breakdown from an authorized dealer last night. I’m super excited for that 7’3 casting version. Definitely going to grab these upon release later in the summer.
  3. Refresh of the entire Megabass Levante lineup coming in 26’. Authorized dealer posted initial images on their social media yesterday, and they look super sharp. Same color scheme as the P5’s. Full casting and spinning models.
  4. I’m really hoping the US releases include a revamped Metanium. It’s been 6 years.
  5. Not sorry at all to see these guys go. Used to order and trade items into them quite often years back. September of 24’ was my final dealing with them. Emailed them for a quote on some Loomis rods(NRX+) I had my eye on. Some were new, and some were “mint” pre-owned. Bryan Kidd was the guy emailing me back and forth. I simply asked for him to send me two separate invoices to compare pricing. One invoice was for the new rods, one invoice for the used ones. Guy refused….”yeah…I’m not doing multiple invoices for that…it’s a lot of paperwork.” Bear in mind, the prices were not MAP hence the need for quotes. Took my business elsewhere to an authorized Loomis dealer that ended up getting my bulk order and business. Even if these guys open up under a new name, I’d be wary. Too many other great reputable dealers out there. Hard pass for me.
  6. 2018 called…it would like it’s post back.
  7. I’m following this thread closely. Thinking of going full-on P5 US models fully for the 26’ season. That FMJ has my eye!
  8. For me, I also take rod power into consideration. Fast action if I’m fishing a medium heavy. More moderate fast in a heavy. Lots of variables can be added to the mix as well including line type that can also influence the rod choice and wanted action.
  9. Anything bottom contact will be golden.
  10. I’ve had snapping issues on the Almighty myself. Not only that, but my once bullet proof Shooter seems to fray/peel much more easier. Both were recent production batches. May be switching to Gamma next season.
  11. For goodness sake man…just buy the rod already.
  12. I’ve got a few ideas 😂
  13. Interesting change. May only use FFS in 5 out of 9 events. The 5 are chosen at random. FFS is FORBIDDEN from use during any practice at every event.
  14. Forgot one thing… Do your research on bodies of water wherever you can. Pick water that has lots of breem and Largies are at the top of the food chain with no LM predators where possible.
  15. I’m very local to your area. #1 - Fish less pressured waters. #2 - If bank bound, cast parallel. #3 - Find spots where you can access drop-offs from the bank. #4 - Get your lure to spots others can’t. #5 - Avoid the county preserves like the plague. You will only be left annoyed and questioning society as a whole. The fishing around the NW suburbs is over-ridden with the casual, weekend anglers (I call them Bobbers). Now that “summer” is over around here, pressure will fall off. Between now and end of October is traditionally some of the best fishing of the year. Good luck.
  16. All depends on bottom composition and the rod. If dragging over rock, good luck. May need to go down a half to full power in rod to make up for the no stretch of the line, to keep them pinned correctly.
  17. Rods are unique to each angler for me and the application. Action felt similar to an NRX+873 CRR. Sensitivity is so subjective so I would suggest just buying one and decide for yourself.
  18. Glad you and the grandson had a positive experience! That’s what builds brands…what they do when things go south. Verdict is in that Bigbox99 should kick rocks. Shame on you boy!
  19. Rod was “meh” at best. A few weeks later, tile snapped off about 4 inches down using fluorocarbon, with a properly set drag, and not snagged. Was enough to kill my confidence. Back to Phenix for me.
  20. Nice! Considering how they would price them, I would’ve bought every single one and gifted them to him.
  21. That’s exactly what I’ve got tied on for tomorrow’s outing, paired with 16lb Shooter. We’ll see how tomorrow goes!
  22. My local mom and pop had these in the shop today. Super clean builds, light, and the actions are spot-on. Walked out with two of the 7’3 Medium Heavy power. One is a dedicated weightless senko/tx rig rod and the other is for frogging. The grip size is PERFECT for my hands as well.
  23. I saw his statement he released on Facebook. Unless I heard this wrong, that this conversation in question occurred 7 months ago?
