  1. Thanks A-Jay. I agree 100% with your assessment of night ops. I'll be back after 'em tonight. I only took a bladed jig rod with me last night since I intended to spend most of my time chasing the slimers, but I had a bunch of short strikes on it. Some of them were HARD. Lots of bass in the stunted grass on the outside edges in 8-12. Tonight I'll take a second bass rod, and spend some time dragging some Ol Monsters around.
  2. Slow bite last night but I managed one decent bass and a handful of dinks.
  3. I don't think you will. I've yet to break one, and I use their 1x strong ST-36 trebles on my muskie cranks. They're unbelievably strong for their wire diameter without being brittle. Their screw loc flippin hooks have been really good for me also. Owner is top shelf.
  4. I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
  5. I'd be looking for brush piles that are around the thermocline depth. Docks with fast access to deeper water are also a good option, especially if they have pontoons on them.
  6. We all need a day like that now and again.
  7. I spent the day at work soaking up 10hrs of double time and a half. I'll hit the water late tomorrow night after the hoards are gone.

Happy birthday and congratulations to 6pound!!! Working full time to buy his own truck. Good job mom and dad.
  9. Their hooks are too hard and brittle. I gave up on em years ago. Owner are outstanding and mustad and vmc are very good.
  10. Heck yeah @TnRiver46 !!! Tons of fun and a bunch of good eat'n all in one package!!!
  11. BigAngus taking stubborn to a whole new level!!! 😂 August 18 here.
  12. I gave up booze, drugs, cigarettes and fast women. The coffee, bacon and doughnuts ain't going anywhere. A man has to has to have some vices. Me either, for about seven more weeks.
  13. I keep it simple and roll with the Bunn. I drink 32oz of Black Ink Coffee's Sumatra every morning. The Bunn is fast, consistent, reliable and makes delicious coffee.
  14. Don't sweat it. I've found green pumpkin to work just as well as black at night. It's actually become my favorite night color. White also works well when there's a decent amount of moonlight, or in your case power plant light.
  15. Beaver or craw on a flippin rig will come through that brush better than ANY jig.
  16. Another vote for Rapala. Dirt cheap, work well, and last quite a while. They cut 100# braid with ease.
  17. Super muggy here today after all the rain yesterday. Mid to high 90's coming in a couple days. Muskie are in a funk. I'm gonna pull an all nighter chasing bass and eyes under the full moon tomorrow night.
  18. Beautiful 40" for Tammy this afternoon.
  19. Beaver on a flippin rig. Effective from ice out till ice over, and jerkin 'em out of the jungle is also my favorite way to catch 'em.
  20. More strength is always a plus, but just like with striking power, good mechanics is more important. A good vertical hookset is similar to an uppercut, and a good horizontal hookset is similar to a hook. The power is generated with the legs and core muscles more than the arms. Your biggest power limitation is being seated in a canoe vs standing on a boat deck like most of us. Same goes for winching them out of the jungle.
  21. AccuWeather for the daily big picture, and windy for local up to the minute updates.
  22. Smack em hard and winch em in. #STRAIGHTBRAIDBRIGADE
  23. Creek mouths, or any other place water is entering the lake, and isolated shoreline brush/weeds are my "go to's" in those conditions. Spinnerbait, square bill, and a jig or Trig get the nod.
  24. I fished through a real frog choker this morning. I had the lake to myself until about 11:00. It paid off with a 35", 41" and a 42". I also lost a mid 40's boatside. 41" 42"
