Power Finesse
I do something pretty similar, but I rig them stupid tube style with the 1/4 oz jig

Frog rod.
I use the ALX IKOS Promise 73. It's a 7'3" MH. They're $159, but first timers get 10% off of site.

Are Dobyns rods still good?
Thanks for the solid info.

Are Dobyns rods still good?
Probably wacky rig and finesse jigs.

Fishing tubes for river smallmouth, do you prefer 1/4 or 3/8 and why?
I usually start with 1/8 oz but will go as light as possible. GP with copper flake, and smoke w purple and silver are my go to's.

Are Dobyns rods still good?
Thanks. I think I'm going to give the XP734c, XP732sf, KD713sf, KD713c, and FR705cb a try this year. Do you think this is solid or should I look at other models too? I have a Fury Swimbait rod from several years ago that I still use too.

Trick Worm Style Neko Worms
I make my own. I've tinkered with a few different molds, but I like a mid mag trick worm style which is a little thicker, or the same version but with a fully round body. I use wacky bands or crossover rings with whichever long shanked neko/wacky hook I have close to me. That Geecrack method looks cool, I may have to try those soon.

Are Dobyns rods still good?
I'm curious if Dobyns rods are still considered good since getting bought out by GSM? The most I've been able to find is that warranty issues were more difficult. Is 35% off retail a good price for them, or is that easily findable? Which rods are worth buying from them? I fish from a kayak, and like to carry 2 spinning, and 3-4 bait cast. I usually have a dropshot, and a ned or neko on the spinning gear. I like to fish jigs, Texas/Carolina rig, and bladed jigs/spinner baits, with a sprinkle of jerk baits and top water.

Matte vs Reflective baits
I make most my own soft plastics as a fun hobby, and for a couple of friends. I have a couple of Do-It cast aluminum stick bait molds that come out with more of a matte finish, and a couple higher end CNC aluminum molds that come out on the glossy/shiny side. I’ve caught fish with both and don’t think it matters much except in real clear water.
