  1. T-Billy's post in Ark Randall Tharp 7’11H gunterville special. was marked as the answer
I have one. It does a fine job of pulling bass out of cover. I'm a fan of both the Tharp and Invoker series rods from Ark. I have most of 'em and have been impressed with the quality for the $$$.
  2. T-Billy's post in Why do most bass hit within a few feet of where my surface lures land? was marked as the answer
It's because you're a 🔨 and 90% of bass can't resist eating your bait for more than 3'. 😉 Now quit messing around and mark this post as the solution!!! 😂🤣😂
  3. T-Billy's post in Storing rods. was marked as the answer
I've stored mine in an unheated garage for years with zero issues. Temps are not a problem. Gnawing critters could be.
  4. T-Billy's post in Ark Tharp Series Moneymaker vs Hammer was marked as the answer
Moneymaker is the more versatile rod, and definitely the way to go for what you described @Shinmothy.

Glad you're all clear. Prayers for your brother.

@A-Jay's collection is similar to mine, except his reels are clean, well maintained , and organized. Mine are ... well... That's a topic for another thread. 😁
On the budget end of things, the Lew's LFS is king of the mountain IMO.
  7. T-Billy's post in Your Favourite Season was marked as the answer
Spring is my favorite. Getting back out after a couple months off the water. Warming temps, big girls moving shallow, the woods turning green again...

Summer is my favorite. Chasing big bass and eyes in the dark. No crowd at night, comfortable temps, peace and quiet, the way my senses are more acute in the dark...

Fall/early winter is my favorite. Cool crisp mornings, fall colors, hot jig/trig bite on the shallow wood, even hotter muskie bite, no crowd...
MAN... I JUST LOVE TO FISH!!!

I vote Ark Invoker Pro 7'4" Mag H F. It has a pretty short handle for a rod that length, but still balances well. Great pitchin/froggin rod. Lew's LFS reel.

5/0 Gama 484 straight shank worm hook is what I use. It's not super heavy wire, but it's plenty strong, and Gama sharp.
  10. T-Billy's post in Shallow, lightweight spool in Daiwa Fuego CT? was marked as the answer
I have a Ray's in one and hprbearings spools in two others. Mine are the spools with the round holes. I have all three spooled with 20# braid on medium or medium heavy rods. I use them for weightless plastics and light trig's. Happy as can be with em

Boy, this was a much needed thread on a -30 sideways snowin day!!! Thanks @12poundbass!!! You're alright. I don't care what @TnRiver46 says about ya!!! ?
  12. T-Billy's post in 20,30,40lb braid was marked as the answer
I do all my heavy cover fishing with 40# 832. Plenty strong enough, big enough in diameter that dig in isn't an issue with standard spools, but small enough in diameter to get significantly more casting distance than 50#. It'll handle all the tasks you mentioned very well.

Heavy, in the length you prefer for that technique. I personally prefer 7'3"-7'6" for pitching. If you're gonna do much actual flipping 7'11" might be the way to go.

Silly human.... You can resist me for awhile, but we both know you will buy another rod, and a new reel for it. Why torture yourself? Just go ahead and buy it. You know you want to.
  15. T-Billy's post in Does anybody make their own soft plastics? was marked as the answer
Been making my own for many years as well. You can one stop shop at Do-It. Their essential plastisol is my favorite of the half dozen or so brands I've tried. Their X2 colorant is excellent, as is their glitter. I have no idea how many of their molds I have at this point, but I've never had an issue with any of them. I like their injector too. Nothing but good things to say about the company and their products.

Nope. Keep 'em both and buy the DC.  Also, I highly recommend buying a new rod to put that new DC on. You're welcome.
