Frog rod.
My thought process on buying the dragger 2 was a poor man's eye crosser or I want an eye crosser but don't want to spend $250.00 (at that time) for a frog rod. It works very well for what I wanted but would probably have little value to you since you already have an eye crosser. Maybe if you needed a dedicated shorter budget frog rod and didn't mind losing some sensitivity vs. the cara. It definitely has more power than my 6 series pitching stick. 😆 Another reason I like the dragger 2. It's a 7 power rod rated 3/8-1 3/8. I have no problem launching a pad crasher as far as I need it to go and it has enough power to get them out. Far enough that my aging eyes occasionally have a hard time tracking it from the shore anyway.

Frog rod.
I'm not sure if you have the 6-17 lizard dragger or the 7-17 dragger 2 but I can vouch for the 7-17. It's a monster for a shorter frog rod at $100.00. Just enough tip to launch a bait and more than enough backbone to drag them out. It'll definitely handle other baits as well. I've thrown 1/2 ounce spinner baits and larger worms on mine and it worked well. Probably make a good carolina rig rod too but ain't nobody got time for that. 😆

Found some "new" old worms today.
I almost forgot to update the thread. I was able to get out for a retro day on Father's Day. Kind of a rough day being Father's Day and free fishing weekend in Ohio. People everywhere at the local park I was able to get out to. I was able to catch this monster on the retro setup though. 😆 Small but healthy looking. That set-up works way better than it has any right to. 6'0" medium Fenwick Venture rod from around 2000, the first decent casting rod I ever bought. It was my first time using the 40ish year old Shimano Bantam from Goodwill on the water and it still works very good for what it is. 40ish year old Culprit fire and ice original worm, 12 pound Big Game, 3/16 lead bullet weight and 3/0 worm hook. Ooh, vintage! Fishing with the old Shimano and Big Game actually made me think of Catt (RIP) quite a few times during the trip. 😊 Also caught a glimpse of a bald eagle, a gold colored carp, a deer or three, a muskrat, a heron, and a bunch of ducks and geese. All in all, a fun little fishing/nature watching trip that I'll definitely do again. Hard to see but the golden carp is there.

Found some "new" old worms today.
Wife wanted to stop at a garage sale today. Found these for $3.00 a bag. Sealed 11 inch mister twisters with the old cardboard hang tags and I'm thinking the culprits are from around the same time frame. I'm guessing mid 80's to early 90's. What a cool find! Thinking about taking an old school trip in the near future.

What are these?

Trilene knot number of wraps
5-6 for mono or copoly, 6-7 for flouro, 7-8 for braid. Works for me. 😂

Are you using anything from GOOGAN SQUAD?
Bandito bug's work fine when you can get them from Ollie's for $1.99. I believe they were supposed to be $2.99 a bag and at that point the price is a little iffy. Full retail pricing? No way! On a side note I ran across a Jon B. video years ago. It had to be one of his first videos on YouTube. It's literally the only time in the last 35 years that I wanted to punch a 13 year old in the face. 😂 Not a fan of any of the other googies either including that Martin kid. Lol. I'm not even sure if Scott is still sponsored by them or not.

Let's see your dogs. (other pets too)
Pulled this out of it's porch pond summer home and moved it into the basement aquarium winter home yesterday. If it gets much bigger it might be moving to it's frying pan retirement home! 🤮

The Falcon rods thread
Never thought I'd see the day Gary's 3rd biggest fan boy would see the light.💡 I've been waiting ten years to see WRB in a Falcon thread speaking positively about the brand. 😂 J/k. Glad you like your Falcon, Tom.

Pet bass?
You'd probably learn pretty quick that you can't afford it and don't have enough time to manage it properly.😂 You'd need a huge tank to keep a bass properly and they require a lot of maintenance. I hear they are extremely messy fish and I believe it. So get a juvenile fish and keep it in a 60 gallon aquarium? What do you do if or when it gets to a pound? You going to eat your pet? In most states it's legal to catch and bring a fish to your private body of water but highly illegal to take a fish from your aquarium or pond and release it into a public body of water no matter where it originally came from. It sounds like a neat idea but in reality, it probably isn't. If you really want a fish that is kind of bass like, get a 60 gallon or larger aquarium, a good filter, a heater, and get an Oscar. The one I had always reminded me of a bass.

A more Premium Mono?
Pro mix is good line. Nothing fantastic but cheap and works well. I have it on one of my reels currently. Suffix Tritanium is probably my favorite inexpensive, under the radar nylon line. Strong, cheap, lower stretch for a nylon line, and handles well on a bait caster. Yozuri Hybrid is another very good line but it's a little more mainstream. 😆 Strong, low stretch, and cheap as well. Then again almost all mono or copolymer lines are pretty good anymore.

Bass Pro Shops coming to my town!
A new Bass Pro opened by me about 2 years ago. Still haven't stopped in. Lol. A new Academy is going to open in August and I am pretty excited about that.

How do you use the rage craw?
I never really fished it much so I'm not real sure. If I remember correctly the idea was to use just enough weight to get the legs/flappers working. I think it would work alright but it would most likely come over any thicker vegetation as opposed to through it. It would probably be similar to fishing a toad and letting it drop down into any open pockets. You certainly wouldn't be punching with it. Lol.

I bought it and I am ready for the comments!
Might work great for you, who knows. I never owned one. I remember for a while when they came out they were the greatest value in fishing then all of a sudden, kapoof, they were the worst value in fishing. 😆

How do you use the rage craw?
Rage rigged is weedless rigged using a weighted swim bait style hook. As far as I remember the term "rage rigged" was coined by a member here named Matt (I believe) a long time ago.
