They have Bass in China. Seen some in Shanghai one time when I was there for work. The Chinese name for them is "Da Lu Yu", Translation is=Big Mouth Fish, lol!!!

I work and live in Korea, but have been on a work assignment in London for the past three months and will be here for the next five months. . .I visit a local shop here and all the guides [for freshwater] are catching pikes, perch, carp and catfish. . .no bass I see. I buy bass lures, but they're supposed to be for pikes.

 

Lived in Hawaii as a kid. On Oahu, you can always go to Lake Wilson (Lake Wahiawa) and get largemouth and peacocks. Think Kauai has some smallmouths. Good luck!
