Hi I have been bass fishing for a good 4 years now but i have just now got into the technical aspects of it. I am working on a custom rod right now for crankbaits (shallow and medium divers). I currently have a BPS pro qualifier for the rod but so far I have almost put in $200 into the rod so I would like a nicer reel for it. I was wondering is the Lews BB-1 Pro PS1 would be good. If not do yall have any good suggestions for a good cranking reel ($150-$200)

The super duty is another to look at in lews lineup for cranking as well

For your purpose, the BB1 Pro is a great reel especially if you are throwing lures 3/8 oz. and over, but if you are going to be mainly throwing 3/8 oz. and lighter lures the Tournament pro is a better choice. The Super Duty would be much more suited for very heavy deep diving cranks, but is much better when used for pitching and flipping with heavier line it is hard to beat, but for med and lighter lures there are much better choices. You won't go wrong with a BB1 Pro or Tournament Pro, these both would be good choices, and for lighter lures the TP shines and is a lighter reel than the Pro. For shallow cranks I prefer the 6.4:1 gear ratio. Both reels can be had below your 200 dollar max, the Tp can usually be had for slightly less than$150.00 new with a little shopping around, with the BB1 Pro being newer It is hard to get one much less Than $165.00, at these prices both are bargain and will put a smile on your face.  

Don't know much about the bb1 but why not pair it with a pro qualifier reel? Would save money and IMO be putting on a reel of same quality. It's what I use on my cranking set up and I couldn't be happier.

Pro Qualifier and BB1 Pro are not even comparable.
