hey guys,

haven't posted back in a few about my further adventures of rod re-modding & wanted to bring you up to date.

first, MAN, i wish i would have started this in the winter when it was too cold to fish.  because, even tho, i've got a cast on, i've GOT to figure a way to go fishing!  this warm weather & fish biting is Killing ME! LOL    ....anyway, i've got 5 done, but was thinking yesterday that i probably will go back & re-do them, for my wrapping is beginning to look a little better than it did on the first ones.  ...who knows, maybe after 15 or 20, i MAY be able to wrap one. Hee Hee

anyway, LOTS of things happening to put all this on backburner:

1) - it's 4 in the morning when i start this post - my 4 yr old grandson is w/me til Easter & i KNOW where my time will be spent! ..but, hey, i'm Thrilled.

2) - i want to get me some of the threadmaster you guys recommended (& a few other things)

3) - did i mention i wanted to Go FISHING?

4) - it's only work if you'd rather be doing something else, & right now, i'd rather be doing something else, so, instead of enjoying working on the rods, i keep thinking of other things i'd rather be doing, so, it's become work....   ...that means a few days off from this.

5) - Fresh Strawberries are in & my wife & kids (& their families) will be using my shop for a few days, putting up berries for the rest of the year  ....and, pushing my "important" rod working, to the side.

so, anyway, i want to ask you guys lots of other things, and, i hope in the near future to do so, but, for right now, Thank You, for getting me started. it really means a lot.   ...and, i'll be "bugging you again in the future"  ...but, for right now, Hope You Guys Have a Wonderful Easter Holiday,  Hope things are good with your Health & with your Family, & hope you catch some "Good 'ol Big 'uns"    ...

Thanks Guys

Yup that's what happens the wraps get bette,r then you wind up redoing the re-do's...LOL ;D

Fresh Strawberries are in

Fresh Strawberries where are you located that you can get fresh berries... :)

In summary it is best to do your re-do's in the winter and don't be afraid to ask your questions. I agree with fish biting and warmer weather happening it is even hard for me to want to take the 30 hrs. to build a new rod. Oops spoke to soon have a custom rod order coming in today.... :)

justtrying,

Sounds like you are steadily improving and surrounded by family... count your blessings and spend the quality time with your wife and kids, the rods can wait!!   :)

There will be time this summer when it's either too windy or stormy, etc.  I was finding that the hour or two I'm awake in the mornings, before going to work was perfect for wrapping rods, and the last hour before bed is always available for the "garage part of rodbuilding" (cork shaping and handles)

Anyway, you will find time for rodbuilding later.  I'm not going anywhere and I doubt ReelMech is either so when you get back to it, fire away with questions... we'll be lurking.  ...lol

All the best,

Keith
