Crankbait Rod - Glass Powell Diesel

Featured Replies

I'm looking at picking up a glass powell diesel and pairing it with a 6:4:1 Lew's speed spool for cranking.

My only issue is the rod is a medium heavy and I am afraid it might have to much backbone. I will mainly be throwing 1/2 oz lipless and medium/shallow crabnks.

With this tackle warehouse sale this is a hard combo to pass on. What does bass resource think?

My friend has one he uses for lipless cranks and square bill cranks, i picked it up and threw it awhile and it felt alright but I didn't hook anything.

I think that will be perfect for your application. It is not overly stiff despite the MH rating. It has a nice bend.

Picked one up, couldn't pass up the deal @ tackle warehouse

Yeah, at $50 it is almost stupid not to get one.

I picked one up too! Will be throwing the same thing as you, 1/2 oz lipless cranks, I think it'll be perfect for them.

Good rod for squarebill and lipless . Got enough.power to rip baits out of grass but a good bend to.keep fish on
