Why do you think that most of Owner's new hook designs are being produced with the Super Needle Point?

The Cutting Points are still available, certainly, but any introduction of a new style comes with the Super Needle Point.

Needle points in order to penetrate separate the tissue, cutting edge point slice through it. Personally for baits where the fish mouths the bait ( like soft plastics ) and you have to set the hook I prefer cutting edge, they are so sharp that they cut even through bone, for other baits where the fish practically hooks itself like spinnerbaits and crankbaits needle points are ok, so in those cases the "sticker" the point the better, first it sticks then you end up setting the hook.
