Seat Post Issue

Featured Replies

Hello,

Just purchased 1985 16' Fisher Marsh Hawk. On the front and rear decks are what looks to be seat post hokes with sorings in the bottom. 2.25" outdide 2" inside diameter. I'd like to get posts and seats to fit in the 2" holes. Any suggestions?

Not finding anything at BP, Walmart or Dicks.

Did you check Swivel eze by Attwood?

Do you have any pictures? I'm not 100% sure the setup you are working with.

Can provide pics tomorrow. Just a 2" inside diameter tube almost level with deck with a spring in the bottom.

How deep is it to the spring?

Are you sure they're 2"? I have a Fisher Hawk 3v that uses 1.77" posts with the spring in the bottom.

Could you get a pvc pipe that fits inside the 2 inch pipe and slide a fishing seat post into the pvc? If the pvc inside isnt wide enough you can get a big drill bit and just reme out the inside until you just a good fit. Or if the seat is going to be permanently there you could set the seat perfectly level then spray some expanding foam like Great Stuff around and in the hole. Then after it is cured you can cut any extra that's above the floor.

If you do the pvc type of thing you should sand the outside and put some epoxy on it wont slide up when you pull the seat up.
