Anyone know, wanting to hit Lake Murray for 4 days in August (looking for LM).  It's hot I know. But does Murray still produce in Aug?

It is difficult for sure. Last I looked local don't was not even posting LM activity probably because there was none. However depending on when you are down you may get to see the big boys as the flw championship will be held here this august.

I would think Lake Wateree, Marion, and Monticello would all be better producers, but i don't fish out there and have zero personal knowledge.

I just moved nearby Lake Murray, and went fishing a couple days in a row. I was fishing off of docks, and the bank, as my kayak has not made its way down from Cleveland yet. Where I fished had mostly a rocky bottom, and water was fairly clear, I only caught a couple smaller ones, but top water, and wacky rigs got me some bites. They seemed to have a subtle bite. Hope this helped.
