I just started pouring soft plastics. I added the softener to the plastic and it came out gooy and snotty. I was wondering if this was because I added way tooo much softener or i didn't heat it high enough?? Also I heated some without softener too high and it melted my plastic spoon, so I carved my name in it. One more thing i did wrong today (other than wake up at 8:25 when school starts at 8:30 and forget we had a test first period) I had a little cold water on the spoon and when i put it back in everything started poppin and stuff but I knew I shouldnt have done that.

You only need to add softner to plastic when you add salt.  Put half the ammount of softner than your salt.  Never stir with a plastic spoon, because you found out why.  Just use a metal one, the plastic peels right off when dry.  Also, never add water to the plastic, because the plastic is somewhere in the 350 range and water boils at 212.  If you ever burn yourself with plastic, you have to tough it out without water, because if you put your hand in water, it will make it ten times worse and the hot plastic will spread.  I burnt the crap out of myself today and you just have to grind your teeeth and then peel the plastic off when it hardens

Yup, I pretty much found out all of this stuff today. But I did add softner after i  put salt in (but i didnt know this). And I was figuring that it popped because of water boiling at 212. Luckily i just had the spoon over the plastic and some water dropped in so i never actually put it in. Another thing I remembered I forgot was I didnt shake the plastic bottle and everything had settled. O well, I am getting better. I have already learned a lot in 2 days of pouring. Hopefully, I get to test some of them out on the water tomorrow!!

This is my formula for my senko 5-1/2" Del-mart mold.  8oz. of plastic, 3-1/2oz. of salt and 1tsp softner. let worms set out a couple of days and you will have a senko with the consistency of a Yamamoto Senko. Worked for me.

It worked pretty good. Next time i think i am gonna use a little more softener and maby a tad bit ess salt. I needed a little more wiggle. But it was a fot better than what i was doing.

It also helps to heat plastic as close to 400 degrees as possible. It pours alot better.

I used the plastic i made with urs and added about 3 tbs of softener. Now they are almost perfect. They are a little softer than senkos. I hope to use them very soon.

Dont try my formula just yet because i guessed on the # of Tbs. i put in. I just poured in softener and kinda guessed. By the end of the weekend, I will I have my perfected formula.

Its been alright. I have been very very busy lately so I havent been able to even test my worms yet. :'( I went fishing yesterday and forgot the worms i made at home. I havent made my worms in about a week because of work and school. But this is our last week so as of Friday afternoon I will have 2 months to perfect my worms and I will get to fish every day. Im just mad i havent gotten to even fish with my worms yet. O well, i am going wed. and possibly all day Thurs. (or 6 flags  ). I will definitely bring my worms and catch something.
