What Music Device Do You Use?

Featured Replies

What device do you use when you decide to listen to music like when you are just relaxing not fishing on the water? Do you use a bluetooth speaker and play music from your cell phone, small boombox, or do you have a radio and speakers mounted in your boat? Sometimes I just go and hangout and was thinking adding a music system. I first saw the bluetooth portable speaker Jam Plus then now I like the JBL Charge better. I was curious if a bluetoith portable speaker would put out enough sound if you were in the water just floating. Or should I go bigger with a boombox type style. My fishibg boat doesn't have a lot of storage so that's why I was thinking or a bluetooth type speaker. I was curious what others are using.

Most times I don't listen to music, but, when I do I just take a personal music player and ear buds, I have used a Sony small boom box w/ mp3/ cd/ radio, runs on 6 D batts, quite nice, at times... My boats never had radios mounted on them, so I just take portable when I want music, I also used to carry a portable weather radio too, back in the day! Lol... Good luck!

In the boat I have mp3 player & a battery powered speaker that I got at Walmart. It zips open so the mp3 player fits inside. If I'm by myself I will normally have music playing, but not blasting so the whole world can hear it.

I have a stereo in my boat. I don't use it very often when fishing, usually when out cruising or at the island.

There isn't room enough for me and music in a boat.  I don't want any distractions when I am fishing.  I rarely see wildlife on the bank or in the air because I mostly look at my target and watch my line.  Music in the boat would drive me crazy.

I use an eco extreme waterproof speaker.  It's small, waterproof and relatively inexpensive.

I'm a all around boater (fishing, hangout with family, relaxing by myself, and may try skiiing some next time). Now when I am fishing I don't have the music playing. It's all quiet and stealth mode.

Got a stereo. But since your space is limited take a look at Phillips SBP 1100 mini speakers i have these and use them with my phone. Picked them up at Walmart or Walgreens.Great for up close when you dont wont headphones(they are small so if your running motor or got several friends together its not going to be loud enough). One thing i did was download a equalizer app for my phone that really helped.

I have an Ipod connected to an external speaker.  I play it fairly loud and I won a night tournament this past weekend.  I don't think it hurts and it makes me happy.  My partner and I both enjoy music.  We had 18 lbs and second place only had 9 lbs.  We had it turned up and and was having a great night!  Singing and flipping bass in the boat!  I vote go for it...

I ended up going with the JBL Charge for long battery life and you can charge your phone from it if you. I was looking and the shadow version is slick but was more then the other three colors on sale so I got one on sale and saw the shadow went on sale one day later so I took it back and swapped. I like the bluetooth so I can keep the phone in a waterproof box and the speaker has a 3 year insurance on (paid extra but even if water gets on it I can get a new one). I dont think sound travels far in water, ever tried talking to someone underwater in a pool so I don't think the sound would mess with most fish. Maybe they might want to jam too lol.

Sony marine head unit with an Aux input for my phone. I use it fairly often. Most of the time it's sports talk or a country station. Otherwise I'm playing something on the phone. Been thinking about swapping it out for one of the small gauge sized radios and using the hole in the console where the head unit is as storage of some kind.
