Black Nickel Blades

Featured Replies

I'm curious about the applications for black nickel blades.  I custom make all my spinnerbaits, but I have yet to try these blades.  Any info is appreciated.  Thanks.

My favorite spinnerbait for night fishing is a eighth ounce black spinnerbait with a Colorado black nickle blade. With a small trailer hook. A very slow retrieve they catch allot of fish. Have a great day, Rich.

I use colorado black nickel blades for night spinnerbaits.

My favourite is deep cup style.

#4 black colorado blades are my favorite for shortarm black spinnerbaits with a black plastic chunk or craw trailer. Works fantastic for working the drops or swimming around and over rocks!

Thanks for the input, guys!

I am no expert on bass, (yet, still learning obviously), however, when I lived in the Pacific Northwest and river fished for Steelhead, I built my own inline spinners.  The black chrome blades, were killer on them metal mouths....  They could not leave them alone it seemed like......   I was to the point of having a plating shop custom plate different style blades for me, so I could have enough to play with..... because I could not find the black chrome after awhile,,, the supply just dried up....

I use colorado black or dark blue blades, size 4 or 5 , for night ,early morning and late afternoon fishing. Skirt is always black or blue/black. Use some rattles as well and work them slowly
