Powell Max 683

Featured Replies

For those of you who have this rod, how would it be for throwing jerkbaits? Mostly 110's, pointers and staysees

It would be OK for those. Not my ideal rod for jerkbait fishing, but it can handle them. I don't know that the 683 really excels at any application, IMO, but it can do just about anything you want it.

Powell really doesn't make a jerkbait other than the inferno series do they? Haven't heard anything about the inferno.

I'm not positive. I think they had/have a TW special edition jerkbait model. I haven't really kept up with Powell since I sold all of mine a while ago.
