Glycerin, Nitrobait Gravy And Storing My Soft Plastic?

Featured Replies

I have 3 tubs filled with various types of soft plastic baits from Gander Mountain. (think frozen sherbert containers) mmmm... sherbert..... Sorry, lost my focus.... Ah yes, so I want to sort and store them for later using the following:

1. HEFTY quart sized slider freezer bags.

2. 6 FL OZ. bottle of Glycerin USP 99.5%

3. Nitrobait Gravy Attractant (Garlic, Shad, Craw)

Q. Will the Glycerin have any negative short/long term effects on the plastics?

Q. Will Glycerin help the Nitrobait Gravy bind to the plastic for a longer lasting scent hold?

Q. Will the naturally sweet nature of Glycerin be attracting to Bass all by itself?

Q. Any suggestions?

If anyone remembers, Eagle Claw made the Nitrobait Gravy I listed above. It came in a small black squeeze container with a flip up stem applicator cap. I found about 40 of them last year for .25¢ each and sucked up every single one. I would like to hear your experience with this attractant as well. It is because of this supply that I decided to use it for storing my plastics and the Glycerin

Please advise and nice to hear from all of you. I am a long time window shopper turned member and really looking forward to interacting with this great group of characters.

What is the purpose of the glycerin as it pertains to bass fishing?

I've never heard of anyone using it before.

Stembridge FlipTail worms were packaged in glycerin oil back in the 60's & 70's before salt became popular.

You can mix glycerin with pure anise oil and that stores good, good attractant and doesn't stiffen the soft plastic.

Thank you, Tom. That is what I am looking to do. Simply store the bait without it getting hard is all. I have a LOT to store and this way is economical for me and simple to apply. I just wanted some more confirmation before I got to work. I am already started and on my way.
