Featured Replies

hello from Portugal,

If you had to choose a rod from G.Loomis and a reel from shimano, to make a nice casting combo, what were your picks ??

I have several combos.

GLX, Curado i...3

NRX, Core 100mg7...1

IMX, Chronarch 50e...1

Spinnerbait rod, Chronarch 200e6...1

The IMX and Curado i would make a great start. Not too pricey.

I have the 803c, J&W rod.

It's 6'8" med. hvy.

Retails at $500.00.

Bom dia from Africa Edgar.

Best rod I know will be great for you is the NRX 893. So capable and sensitive. Team this with a new Shimano Antares and you will never look back. Expensive combo, but sure your Euro is stronger than US$ !!

"new Shimano Antares"

dont you think 26 Inches Per Crank is a little too much for crancking?

I think the CBR 845 is a great all around crankbait rod, pretty much do everything you need . As to reels I'd just go with the curado I or if you can find one the E5.

Scratch my suggestion if you are looking for specifically a crankbait rod.

The G. Loomis cranking rod CBR 843 7-foot medium moderate fast action tip baitcaster rod. Part of their crankbait series.

You can go with a slow or fast retrieve Shimano bait caster. An E5 to a 7 to 1 reel.

Check out the various G.Loomis crankbait rods. Do your research, too, and let us know what you decide to do.

Not really. Ideally you would want around 22", but it's easy enough to slow down the retrieve. Has plenty of power and really smooth.
