Is it best to use a baitcaster or spinning rod for crankbaits.

    Depends on 1) your skill level and 2) the weight of the lure.

    Shad Raps and other light baits can be pretty tough to throw on baitcasters.

    I use a baitcaster...with that said, I caught my personal best with a 1.0 KVD squarebill on a 5'6 spinning rod, although that was more of that's all I had and I knew they were on the crankbait.
