Walleye And Perch This Sunday

Featured Replies

Gonna be doin some walleye trolling and a little perch fishing out on Lake Erie this weekend. The guy who's boat we're headin out on has all the trolling gear, but said I should bring a rod for perch. I have a beater 5'6" light quantum trax combo I'm thinkin I'll bring. Could I use a 6' medium cabelas tourney trail and still feel those perch bites?

Yes. You will probably use a weight from 3/8 to 3/4 to get your perch rig down. You will probably be in 45-60 fow.

Cool! My friend was talking about using a 3/4 oz weight Carolina rig on light tackle. I thought maybe it was the bass bite on my mind which thought I should go heavier.
