Okay so I'm looking to buy a new rod, or several actually. But I'm gonna spread them out over the course of the next year or atleast 6 months. I am wanting to join a local bass club and I need some better rods. Right now all I have is an old FLW tour chrome 6' Medium rod paired with an Abu Garcia black max low profile. What I want to get is a flippin stick/frog rod, a topwater rod, a finesse rod, and a worm and jig rod, in that order. These are the particular rods I've looked at:

Berkley Lightning Rod and the Shock model

Shimano Sellus Technique-Specific rods

Powell Diesel

Daiwa Aird

H2O Ethos

All Star Classic Graphite

Halo Starlite

I wanna know what's the best quality and value for the money. Any other suggestions are also appreciated. I'm looking to spend $60 max for the rod itself.

Im doing the same thing, buying new rods like you are and so far Ive purchased a allstar classic 7' mh from academy for 49$ and Im pleased with it.  Plan on buying a duckett ghost next.

Go to tw site and look up the customer review on the *** it has alot or bad reviews I don t know myself I'm gonna get me a rod also but after reading all the bad reviews I'm gonna get a goast or a veritas

You are pushing it with 60 bucks. In that situation I'd focus on features and comfort as performance will be similar

I'd like to feel and handle the rod before I buy then but no store within a 3 hour drive of where I live carries Denali or *** products. So really I've narrowed it down to the all star, the ethos, daiwa aird and Procyon, the Sellus, and I've yet to find a Powell diesel in the store but I handled a Powell inferno at cabelas the other day and if the diesel is anywhere close I think I'll love it.

I had the 7'2" sellus & really liked the way it handled I just didn't care for the grip it was slippery for me but a great rod none the less. So I returned it & was able to fenangle a veritas for $51. That was at Dick's.

I would find a veritas on sale, if you can get your hands on one somewhere you will understand why.  They are really good rods and they feel wonderful in your hands.  Like I mentioned before, allstar is a good choice, I just bought one and I like it a lot for 50 bucks!!!
