Bps Prolite Special Review?

Featured Replies

This reel is $59.99 at Bass Pro…the Prolite Special…can't find much online about it…anybody know anything?  The guy there (who of course works there) said it used to run (one like it) for about $120…but who knows.

Grab one if it is anything like the older model.  I haven't any experience with this model, but have a couple of the older gold Carbonlites.  These reels are great with lighter lures.  The Prolite has a smaller frame, and was designed as a finesse reel....so I have been told....therefore it should be even better.

Is this reel available Online from BPS?  I'll look myself, but assume it is local for your store.

EDIT:  I saw 2 different models on fleabay...PXL10 HA and HB.  No idea what the difference is other than the color.  These have the same frame size as my Carbonlites, so they aren't based on the original Prolite.  Hopefully I was given the correct info and aren't passing on bogus info to you.

Here is a thread I found on the reel.  Sounds like a bargain to me!  :teeth:

I have one. It's currently spooled up with 30lb power pro and I use it for spinnerbaits and swim jigs. I was getting bad backlashes with fluoro, but it is pretty darn smooth and light. I caught a 28" northern with it and it had no problem handling it

I'm sure it's a good buy at $60, but I bet the rod is nothing special.  Judging by the looks, it's from the same OEM as the Quantum Accurist and ect, PT reels.  I have an Accurist PT and it's every bit as good as my Pro Qualifier.
