Looking for if the Signature Series is worth the extra money over the Custom Lite for skipping....they are both 7'1" H with fast tip for skipping, of Course there is also the LFS model with same specs for same money...I am a terrible skipper and wanting a good skipping rod

Do you mean the Tatula SV 100? I am not familiar with all the Daiwa codes, etc. Thank you - does this refer to the Shimano SLX 70? I dont see a 70/71 online

Most of my set ups are specific to a certain bait or two - so this set up I want is for throwing Texas rigged seniors on a baitcaster in the 8.x:x range - I throw them a lot and hate using a 7.x.x because of reeling it in so often and I want it to be faster....I am not set on any brand, just wanting something under $175'ish - I thought about the Lews SP skipper that is on sale for $175 but don't see me being able to skip a senko with my lack of skill!

A year ago using this reel, the "cast control cap" (proper name on the Daiwa parts diagram) came off and fell in the lake. The one I ordered has arrived a year later. I replaced it today and it does not affect how fast my line drops like it needs to...and the spool still rattles even though I have the cap tightened as far as it will go. I don't know if there were other parts that I need to order that went under the cap and can't tell from the parts diagram. Any ideas as to fix this issue? I'll be the first to admit I am no expert.

I just got this reel and I'm trying to figure out the best use for it. I have lots of reels and don't have any gaps in my needs but thought I'd put this where it would be the most effective. I have a 6.2 of the same reel for crankbaits and the 8.3 for throwing frogs a long distance and wondered if this 7.5 would be good for throwing very lightweight, soft plastics like flukes and trick worms since it is supposedly a long casting reel. Or what is a great usage for it?

all three of my Abu Garcia rods have gotten sticky / tacky on the black grips over the past summers - how can I treat them so they dont peel or get worse? any ideas? TIA

I mainly use them in 3.75 swimming them alone not as trailers and wondered if 4.25 or another length is more versatile / effective?

I have broken off more recently using a Yozuri leader...I use 8, 10, and 12 depending on what pound line of Power Pro I am tying it to...any knot suggestions? I am wetting the line and have been using a double uni knot.

I have many times...yesterday I took an old reel that I never use and got the Lew's skipping reel for $40 off. I have done it with rods also...but as stated above, sometimes future sales are just as good...the way I look at it is someone else may be getting use out of a reel I wasn't using and I got a reel cheaper than I normally could find it. As stated above, you have to buy a higher priced item to save much money.

I bought about 5 of them when they came out and now it is a running joke with me and my friends how I never catch anything on it. Anyone?

I looked through the forums hoping to not post this if it has been posted....While the sales at BPS classic have not been good in most of our opinions the past years, I still like seeing the flyer. Has anyone seen it yet? I've not bought during the classic since pre-Covid. Seems like their sale prices are still higher than other local stores that I won't name here.

I have gotten to where I really like Lews reels and want a dedicated one for crank baits...NOT deep cranks but mainly around the KVD 1.5 size...what reel under $200 by Lews is best for this?

The over all opinion was that the national media was real quiet about it due to election and Covid news. Thanks Tom! I was without power (used a generator though) from Thursday morning until Sunday night. I live directly south of Shreveport about 16 miles and the worst of the storm went just to the east of me. Took me about a week to pick up all the branches but luckily no trees fell and no one around me got hurt. Here we are a week and half later and there are people down south still without food and struggling real bad.

I live in Louisiana and fish mainly coffee colored water - what chatterbait colors and trailers are your best combinations in that type water? Thought I'd hit the Bass Pro Sale on chatterbaits - thanks!

Have used it pretty much the ways suggested above...on the Hard Head and T-rigged on a 4/0 EWG the most with a weight - had a great day on a pond with a green pumpkin T-rigged!

I use a 7 foot Medium spinning rod and 10 pound Power Pro Braid green with a 8 pound Yozuri Hybrid leader...hook is a 2/0 VMC with weed guard....https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/vmc-wnk-weedless-neko-wide-gap-single-hooks-5-pack. I do not ever use weight....Senkos have plenty of weight to throw and the Bass Pro knock offs are what I use the most along with original Senkos, Yum Dingers, trick sticks, and a few others.
