I have lots of credit at Academy. Interested in trying an umbrella rig but maybe a smaller one as opposed to a huge one. Any suggested rigs and baits to put on them? I don't know where to start with combining the rig and baits and hooks. Is 50 lb braid enough??

How would this AllStar Nano Rod be for light topwater applications? It is a 6'6" Medium XFast? I am 6'4" but still want shorter than a 7 footer. It is called a "Hoppin' Jig" rod for some reason..?? On sale at Academy. What else could I use this for?

How does the Tournament Speed Spool rate and how does it compare to the BPS Extreme or BPS Pro Qualifier. Is this TLZ1H Trnmt Speed Spool an older model and that is why I can't find it on Lew's website?

Two reels on sale at Academy by Lew's...both at $69 from $119 but I can't find their model codes on any other website (TLZ1H and TLZ1SH)...are they just models made for Academy? They are called the Tournament Speed Spool and Tournament Laser MG Speed Spool.

I have lots of 7 foot and 6'6" rods for many fishing uses and have been just using a 7'3" M/H Veritas for all topwater frogs, heavy jig flipping, and fishing in mats (Louisiana and Texas) on 50 pound Power Pro.... Today at Bass Pro I couldn't resist the 7'6" Heavy BPS Extreme rod at $59 ($40 off)...so what uses would you use the two rods for now...the 7'3 Veritas MH and 7'6" Extreme Heavy...would one be flipping, punching, short distance stuff and one for more versatile heavy needs? I guess keep a 7.1 range reel on them with 50 or so braid or put 65 on one?

So is the Extreme combo a good deal or not? Is the reel and the rod sub-par to the originals or what?

What color head and body on the CM?

Next week I'll get two Carbonlite rods at BPS….one is a dedicated worm rod in 7 foot and one will be a 7'6" rod for my heaviest pitching and flipping and I get into some thick mats where i fish. Who has these rods and can suggest what stiffness I should get for each one? I think MH for the 7 footer and Heavy for the 7'6"…any input or suggestions?

Has anyone heard of or used the H20 MOTIVE reel? It is in 7.1 and is normally $79.99 but now on sale for $49.99. I read good things about the METTLE and other Academy reels but couldn't find anything on this one...I figure at the price it is cheaper than the METTLE but would like to know anyone's experience with it.

I need two combos still for lake and river fishing, sometimes in thick mats. I will put Pro Qualifiers on both of them but am not sure what speeds. I need a topwater combo for light stuff like Pop'Rs, Spooks, etc…looking for suggestions on rod length, stiffness, and action and rod suggestions under about $90…also, should I use a 6.4.1 on this? Also need a worm rod in about 7 feet length…don't want to spend over about $90 on the rod…do you suggest a medium heavy? What tip? 6.4.1 or 7.0.1? Feel free to suggest specific rods but if you tell me I can get it online, please tell me where!

What model Tatula is least expensive and where do you suggest I look at prices?

Yes for sure! I just took off some Red Label from a reel where I wanted stronger line…what I took off was 12 lb, so I re-spooled it and use it for leader material.

OK where is the best deal right now on a Tatula? I have been reading about them and I guess it is time to try one out. What is the difference in the different models of it?

Where are you all finding the best deals on Tatula reels? I have seen some comments on here about finding them close to the price of BPS Pro Qualifier…???

This reel is $59.99 at Bass Pro…the Prolite Special…can't find much online about it…anybody know anything? The guy there (who of course works there) said it used to run (one like it) for about $120…but who knows.

Anyone know anything about the KVDC705CC rid at BPS on sale for $69.99? Looks like an older model being closed out but I can't find anything about it.

I have two spinning rods, 2 bait casters in 6.4.1 and one bait caster in 7.1 (for jigs). If I were to add another bait caster in 7.1 what would be a good use for it? Hollow body frogs and soft plastic frogs?

On a thicker cover rod that is 7'3 or 7'6 for jigs, etc, is it better to have a fast reel like a 7:1?

Saw this deal on Bass Pro...how does this rate compared to the similar priced competition?

I got the brochure in my email today for the Bass Pro sale. I have store credit and will trade in a rod and reel for the added discounts. I need a set up for heavier pitching and flipping jigs. I have other set ups for other applications. I am leaning towards a Veritas and 7.1 Pro Qualifier set up. Need advice on length of rod and action / tip info and is a 7.1 reel good for this? What line? I am tall and I fish from a boat but not in real thick vegetation. What all could I throw on this set up? Thanks in advance.
