Endcap Came Off Rod.

Stopped at Lowes and bought one of the glues they suggested.  Don't know where I put the tube (senior moment :sad78: ), but it wasn't Gorilla Glue.  Came off first time I used it.  Not too thrilled to try a super glue.  What else could I try for the repair?  Thought I would leave the other on to fill the gap.  Would that be okay?  Thanks.

I'm not a pro but I'm not sure I would go with gorilla glue. The times I've used it it seems to expand a lot.

Edit: forget that didn't see it wasn't gorilla glue. You could try a two part epoxy like u40 rod bond. Or test the super glue on something else first to see home much it expands. I'm sure if you used a thin coat it would be fine.

Yes, two part epoxy is the adhesive of choice for rod building. If you want to email me specifics of what you need to do I'll do my best to help you work through it.

Thanks Mike.  Will have to do that from work as the computer I have my email on at home is kaput at the moment, and I'm not sure I remember my password to get at the emails from another computer.

JB weld works just fine. I have fixed three rod butts with it and they are still going strong.
