i bought this lure at bps but cant get it anywere else and would like to try different colors...ihave been interested in making my own lures for some time...i figure now is as good a time as ever to start       my question iswhat supplies would i need and how much will they cost approximatly and what steps  will i need to make a lure of this sort

Don't know how to make it but I have one . Have you had luck with this . I haven't,  how do you fish these thanks in advance. But they look like a wire through design .so I'd start with good woodcarving knife and some balsa unless you want to use a diffrent type of wood .But I'm sure that someone else has a more detailed response. good luck

Looks like a trout lure to me.

anyway, I think that this lure would be much better as a soft plastic.  YOu could make a mold and pour with the wire through, add treble, and spinner.  I know nothing about making balsa baits, so that would be the way that I would attempt if I needed that bait in every size shape and color.  

You can buy crank bait blanks at http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/, Put a screw in eye on the front, take some spinnerbait wire and put it on with a little blade, then put your treable n the back. Sounds simply but coulb work I think.
