On the old Photobucket site, we compressed your images to save space, but this greatly hurt image quality. After asking users for feedback, we learned most people preferred that we keep their originals instead of having unlimited storage. To make this possible, we had to offset the cost of with the new Plus subscription/storage plans.

On the new site, you have been uploading images in their original quality and you've ran out of storage. On the old site, we would compress a 7 megabyte photo to 1 megabyte. This saves space, but you can notice the difference. Today, if you upload a 7 megabyte photo, we keep the original file. It looks much clearer, especially if you want to print the image.

I'm making an assumption that you've deleted old images? Those images were not taking up as much space compared to your new images, so the percentage of storage-used in your account hasn't changed much.

So.....I guess for the "better good" I have to suck it up and find another online storage base. Many good suggestions here, which I highly appreciate guys! I do not have another email address, so I guess I've got to search online for another "freebee".  Born a cheapskate....always a cheapskate. LOL!

THANKS guys for your help & suggestions.

so resize your images and save them before you upload them. you can dramatically reduce the file size of photos from your camera before you upload them. and it wont greatly affect the quality either. all you need to resize them is a simple little program like Irfanview, which is a free download. if youre uploading raw files from any camera youre going to eat up a lot of space. as for not having another email, create one. its simple. go to yahoo or gmail or a variety of other free email sites. youre making this harder than it has to be...
