Spinning Rod And Reel Selection

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I need a good spinning combo and I would like some suggestions as to a good rod and reel for 90 bucks or under. Does anybody have any suggestions?

You aren't going to get a good one for $90 bucks but you can get an adequate set up right at that price point. The best deal would be a Mitchell 300 spinning reel for like $50 and a Bass Pro Shops Graphite Series spinning rod for $40. If I was in need of a spinning set up and could only spend that amount, this is what I would get, the rod has good guides for that price plus it allows you to get a better reel, it isn't great but it will work.

Pflueger Trion and maybe a sale/used Fenwick Eagle. Gonna be hard to find a quality combo at that price though.

lighting rod shock, 7ft med. or med. heavy fast action $40, and a pflueger president $50

Thanks guys! I don't need a really top line rod and reel, I just need something that will work OK. If it'll pull a bass out of the slop ok it'll be fine.

Knowing him(I do) he wants to spend less then fifty if he can..... I would suggest the hank parker combo....

Buy a house brand rod (BPS/ Cabelas etc) and an used 2500 size spinning reel. Should work great.

Berkley lighting rod shock 7ft med. $40, Shimano Sienna 2500FD $30, 8lb Seaguar Invisix $15

Can't be beaten for the price IMO....Very versatile finesse setup
