  1. Avid X. I have the 7' Med.Hvy. and use it as my jig rod. Absolutely love it!
  2. Thanks Robert for the reply!
  3. Hey folks, looking for a new rod. All I want to know is, are the guides on the (casting) champion extreme normal size? I will be using braid as my main line with a fluocarbon leader. I do NOT want micro guides. Wanted to make sure before I purchase. Thanks in advance!
  4. I have both the crucial and the avid x. I like the exposed blank on the crucial but the avid x just has a better blank feel. More sensitive. But be aware the avid has micro guides. No comment on the zodias since I don't own one. Good luck with your choice
  5. I used to use the Alberto knot. Since trying the FG knot, I really like it. The small diameter is great and the knot is strong. Little tricky to tie, but nothing a little practice can't take care of.
  6. Thanks for all the votes and responses!!!
  7. So I am looking for a new rod. This rod will be a MH, fast or Extra fast. Been considering a few rods in the $200 range. G-Loomis E6x, Powell 3D Max, St.Croix Avid X. What is your choice??? Thanks!!!
  8. I have two lightning shock rods. A spinning and a baitcaster. Never had a problem.
  9. Get yourself an anchor man! Also use some bigger baits like other members have mentioned. I've caught some of my best fish on big soft plastics like 8 inch plastic lizards, and full size brush hogs. Put those big soft plastics in the pads!!!
  10. I don't personally fish Webster lake. The lake is to big for me. I only own a small john boat with a trolling motor. I hear there is good fishing there tho. I just stick to my handful of ponds that I know hold fish that get up to the 8lb range. Other than that I take a few trips to the Quabbin reservoir for some smallie action!
  11. . Makes sense. I doubt this will really be that bad of an effect. The pond is overun with many many weeds. So badly there are giant floating muck islands. A little reduction hopefully won't be to bad. Thanks for post.
  12. Thanks for all your responses!! I do not know the chemical used but I will definitely find out. And no its not Pomps Pond. The pond is west of Worcester. Also if it does kill a few fish, I guess the bass that remain will be getting bigger. Thanks again everyone.
  13. Hi all, My local go to fishing spot was recently treated for weeds/ pond scum. My question is, what are the pros and cons to the treatment. I have caught some of my biggest bass out of this pond, and was just curious if the treatment will kill of the fish/ aquatic life that sustains the bass. Thanks in advance!!!
  14. lighting rod shock, 7ft med. or med. heavy fast action $40, and a pflueger president $50
  15. Fish the line where the pads hit open water. If that has no success, go and toss soft plastics into the small openings in the pads. They will be waiting to ambush!
  16. sedona, sahara, president, supreme. anyone will be fine.
  17. crankbank. i picked up a crucial for 89.99 at dsg in millbury and there were also verita's on sale to. tight lines
