Private Lakes In East Texas ?

Featured Replies

I am planning a trip to East Texas in a few weeks. Was wondering if anyone knows of any good trophy bass private lakes where i can pay a fee to go fishing. We will be staying near Lufkin. I know that there are supposed to be hundreds of 10 to 60 acre lakes all over East Texas and surely some of them will let a person fish for trophy bass for a fee? I know that Lufkin is near a couple of the largest public lakes in the south but I don't own a bass boat.

This site, from reading it, allows you to trial any of the lakes listed for a daily fee without becoming a member. Read the FAQ

I know nothing about it but it interests me cause my father lives in Bonham TX and there are a few places near him on the list.

I have actually been looking at the privatewaterfishing web site for a couple of days and find it really tempting to join. i actually called and talked to a manager there about the club. I asked about just paying a fee to fish one of the lakes and he said that the try out the lake deal wasn't for that purpose unless I was planning on joining the club. i live about 50 miles west of Fort Worth and most of the lakes are in East Texas. If I lived in East Texas i would join the club in a heart beat. Even if I only got to fish the lakes a couple of times a year it would be about the same as paying for a guided fishing trip on a public lake.

I am a new member to "Private Water Fishing" (joined in Dec. 2013) and had nothing but a 12- foot jon-boat& trolling motor.

Came to find out that a lot of the lakes have a boat, you just need a trolling motor& battery. For that matter a lot of the lakes

in the club are amenable to bank fishing. I can honestly say it has been far & away one of the BEST decisions of my life !

Even my Wife appreciates the joy & solitude I get from my half-day excursions that I go on a average 3-4 times a month. that's

another benefit of the club. You can reserve most club lakes for half-days, A.M. or P.M., or for the whole day- often with very short

notice. I do most of my fishing during the week when there is little competition for fishing time, sometimes with 24 hours notice! I

highly recommend this club for the avid or casual fisherman in Texas! And, you can use me as a reference! Tight lines to all!
